Three organists, John Linker, Michael Stewart and Barry Brinson and one harpist, Helen Webby all with links to Christchurch.


JOHN LINKER is currently Director of Music at ChristChurch Cathedral. A native of Princeton, Illinois, USA, John received a Mus.B from Northern Illinois University in 1997, a Master of Music from the Chicago Musical College (Roosevelt University) in 2003 and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati. From 2001-2015 Linker served as Organist/Choirmaster of the  Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) in Lexington, Kentucky.

MICHAEL STEWART is Organist and Director of Music at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, and also Music Director of acclaimed early music ensemble The Tudor Consort. To mark JS Bach’s 330th birthday last year, Michael and his colleague Richard Apperley performed his complete organ works; this year Michael will perform the complete organ works of Felix Mendelssohn. His performances as an organist and conductor are frequently broadcast on Radio New Zealand Concert.


BARRY BRINSON accomplished classical organist and jazz pianist, will entertain at both the newly-restored 2-manual 8-rank Wurlitzer and a custom-built 3-manual Allen digital replica theatre organ at the Drury Theatre Organ Trust’s concert room. He has performed on many theatre pipe organs here and abroad. Combining classical technique with modern stylings, Barry presents a wide range of entertainment music at the organ, including the accompaniment of silent movies.

HELEN WEBBY Born in Whangarei, Helen began playing the harp at the age of 12, and has studied in NZ, Holland, and Germany. She has been Principal Harp with CS since 2000, and has toured with the NZSO. Helen has produced several CDs, some in collaboration with other  soloists. Most recently, Helen took her new CD One Beautiful Day on tour to small towns around New Zealand, performing with Scottish guitarist Davy Stuart for Arts On Tour NZ.
